Joslin Tournament Results!
Congratulations to all participants that entered the 2008 Joslin's Jiu-jitsu Open on Sunday Nov. 9th, 2008!
Everyone gave it their best and had fun. Pralle Kriengwatana got a Bronze Medal after 3 battles with some tough girls! Pralle is now world famous as two of her photos appear at: http://www.mmacanada.net/pictures/view/92/5 and http://www.mmacanada.net/pictures/view/92/6
Ryan Rumantir made it to the 3rd round (final 10 out of 50) and gave a great showing with 3 amazing throws! He lost his final match by only 2 points! Jeff Chan won his first match, as did Zachary Gable, Brad Davies (Brad also won his first match of no-gi too). Ken Zhang also put up a good fight with a great guard reversal and dominating from mount before gassing and losing on points! Scott Renwick who fought in the Advanced division put up a brave fight from the bottom against a very strong opponent before losing on points. Trevor Purchase also put up a good showing -avoiding being submitted - and just losing on points. Congratualtions to Austin Richardson, Phil Chapman, Colin Brown, and Daniel Mclellan for all trying very hard!
The next tournament is the Ascension Jiu-jitsu Open on Saturday February 7th, 2009 in Scarborough Ontario. If you are committed on entering, please let us know as early as possible!
